Broadstone appoints new Head of Pensions Administration

Broadstone, a leading independent employee benefits and pension consulting firm, today announces the appointment of Gavin Giles as its new Head of Pensions Administration across the UK.

Gavin, an experienced actuary, has over 20 years of knowledge and understanding of UK pension schemes and was previously head of Broadstone’s Pensions Advisory Teams in Bristol. Before its sale to Broadstone in 2019, Gavin was a Board Director at BBS Consultants & Actuaries Limited and brings a wealth of experience into his new role.

Gavin will lead the next stage of Broadstone’s growth in the pensions administration sector and work with the firm’s consulting experts to deliver its critical, industry-leading service to more schemes and employers to ensure their members are paid correctly and on-time.  Gavin takes over in the role from Paul Bowden, who is staying with the business to focus on further developing Broadstone’s administration systems.

Recently ranked the UK’s #1 third party pensions administrator, Broadstone harnesses the expertise of its specialist administration team with the capabilities of their actuarial and investment colleagues to provide an accurate, timely and personal service for pension scheme members ensuring that costs, risks and drain on trustees’ time is avoided.

Commenting on his appointment, Gavin Giles, Head of Pensions Administration at Broadstone, said: “Our Pensions Administration Practice is bursting with brilliant people, and we already offer a first-class service to our clients, as demonstrated by the results of a recent Third-Party Administrator survey, when clients voted us number 1 by some distance.

“I am delighted to be taking on the role of leading our Administration Practice nationally and building on such a strong foundation. My role will be underpinned by our continued commitment to quality, a personal service for members and our client-first approach. I genuinely look forward to helping Broadstone drive both the business and our top-tier administration services, further forward.  I am also pleased that Paul Bowden, who will be known to many of our clients, is staying with the business to focus on further developing our systems and I look forward to working with him in this regard.”

Commenting on Gavin’s appointment, Nigel Jones, Head of Pensions Advisory at Broadstone, said: “I am delighted to welcome Gavin to his new role and look forward to working with him to further improve our already outstanding Pensions Administration services together with expanding our complimentary Pensions Advisory offerings.

“Gavin’s appointment is the first of several exciting changes planned here at Broadstone to benefit all our clients and members. Gavin’s understanding of the business will also provide great continuity and give us the platform to continue to enhance and improve outcomes for all our pension scheme members.”
