Gerry is a qualified actuary, and has been involved in the pensions industry since 1990, advising defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements run by a wide range of industry sponsors including a number of household names.
With pragmatism built on the comfort of a thorough understanding of the workings of a pension scheme, Gerry is able to take the lead role in guiding schemes smoothly to their eventual destination.
His extensive industry experience incorporates roles at PwC, Punter Southall, Mercer and Mitchell Consulting, with particular expertise in:
Risk and investment matters;
Liability management; and
Scheme “journey planning”.
Gerry believes that the pensions industry is awash with unnecessary complication, and he is a firm advocate of clear and straightforward communication, for which he is often complimented by his clients.
Added to that, his personable nature allows him to foster good long term relations with his clients and contacts, and build bridges between stakeholders during periods of conflict and negotiation.
Gerry graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1990 with a first class honours degree in Economics and Accounting. He qualified as an actuary in 1995.
