Centenary Colouring Competition
Glenn Nutsey of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts Ltd presents a voucher to Megan Poole.
As part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Broadstone Mill, a Fun Day saw hundreds of people from the locality visiting Father Christmas and enjoying a variety of games from a Lucky Dip to a Coconut Shy.
The event proved very popular and as well as recalling the past, the venue showed off the development of the new Creative Industries area.
In the early days of the Mill, a canal ran in front of the building and in a colouring competition, youngsters were asked to draw a barge that they might have seen on the water had they lived then.
The competition was to win a £35 Toys-R-Us Voucher which was donated by two of the very successful tenants of Broadstone Mill, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts Ltd and Wordsworks.
There were three age groups in the competition: 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8 and the winners were Megan Poole age 7, Lewis Wilson age 6 and Lauren Beck age 3.
